Description
It’s always scary getting a board like this. I know the kind of wave I’m going to catch, and the image in my head scares me. This board is for that 2nd or 3rd reef pipe wave that I want to roll into super early, so paddle is key. That being said, I still need a responsive board so I can make small adjustments and generate speed when I need it. This board is for anywhere that you need that extra paddle from a bigger board. You know the kind of wave you're gonna catch on it, and that scares you… in a good way!
The Details
With bigger waves in mind, paddle power is key. Keeping a wide point forward and thickness through the nose helps this board paddle like a board 3-4 inches longer than it is. The deck hides tons of volume, with concave shaped into it. Boards are always the best when you get them broken in and have foot dents set in the board, but that also means the board is usually at the end of its life. With this design, it’s intended to give you that broken-in feeling right away. The asymmetrical quad setup offers the hold and stability of a quad without limiting my ability to make small adjustments in critical situations.
